I flew to Bahrain again in early 2012 to help entertain the crowds at the F1 trackside village, drawing digital caricatures for Gulf Air. It was an unbelievable spectacle, with circus acts, stilt walkers, super heroes, break dancers and a jumbo jet flying down the track to launch the event! I spent three days working my way through eager queues of punters, drawing on an early Samsung Slate tablet, which unfortunately had compatibility issues with the screens and printers supplied, but we worked around it. I had a fabulous time, though it was very noisy trackside and so banter was not an option. I do enjoy the F1 gigs and look forward to my next.
